We are proud to announce that smartKYC has been shortlisted in not one but two categories at this year’s UK FinTech Awards — the benchmark event for innovation and excellence across the UK’s financial technology sector. Judged by an independent panel of senior industry figures, a shortlisting at the UK FinTech Awards reflects genuine peer recognition.
To appear in both the RegTech and WealthTech categories is a reflection of the breadth and depth of what smartKYC delivers.
Industry Recognition
Compliance teams are operating in one of the most demanding regulatory environments in a generation. Sanctions volatility, CSDDD obligations, evolving FATF guidance, and the relentless growth of financial crime have placed AI-powered due diligence at the top of every financial institution’s agenda.
The RegTech of the Year shortlisting acknowledges smartKYC’s role in meeting this challenge head-on — delivering automated adverse media screening, watchlist and sanctions screening, perpetual KYC, and enhanced due diligence at the speed and scale that modern compliance demands.
The WealthTech of the Year recognition speaks to a different, equally critical challenge: knowing the true origin of client wealth. smartKYC’s WealthInsights capability — combining Source of Wealth analysis with Journey to Wealth verification — gives private banks, wealth managers, and family offices the intelligence they need to onboard with confidence and satisfy FCA expectations without drowning in manual review.
“Being recognised across both RegTech and WealthTech in the same year is a powerful signal. Our platform was built to solve the real problems compliance teams face — not just to automate processes, but to deliver genuinely better decisions, faster. This shortlisting validates that mission and motivates the entire team to push further.” — Dermot Corrigan, CEO, smartKYC
Driving AI Innovation in KYC and Compliance
At the core of both nominations is smartKYC’s commitment to AI that works in the real world. Rather than generic large language models bolted onto legacy workflow tools, smartKYC has built purpose-trained models that understand the language of financial crime, regulatory risk, and wealth provenance. The result is fewer false positives, faster escalations, and audit-ready outputs that stand up to FCA scrutiny.
Key capabilities spanning both nominations include:
- AI-powered adverse media screening with multi-language, multi-source coverage
- Automated watchlist and sanctions screening with continuous monitoring
- Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) reports generated in minutes, not hours
- Wealth Insights: Source of Wealth and Journey to Wealth analysis for wealth managers and private banks
- ESG and supply chain risk screening for third-party due diligence
Looking Ahead to the Awards Ceremony
The awards ceremony takes place on 23 April 2026 at the Leonardo Royal Hotel London Tower Bridge. The evening opens with a drinks reception at 7pm, followed by a black-tie dinner, the awards ceremony hosted by comedian and presenter Alex Zane, live music, and an after-party. Winners will be announced on the night before an audience of the UK’s leading FinTech executives, investors, and regulators.
smartKYC looks forward to joining fellow finalists and industry leaders for an evening recognising the organisations shaping the future of financial technology.
